金曜日は大阪へ。厚手のコートは
不要でした。翌日の東京では
珍しく日陰に雪が残っていたものの…。
昔は通勤に着ていたコートはやはり
いらなかったなあ。

この3日間、須坂では朝雪かきが
必要だった様です。
さすがに長野は冷え込んでいます。

I visited Osaka last Friday where I did not
need to wear thick winter coat. Neither in
Tokyo where however I found snow still left
in the shadow of buildings. I used to wear
cashmere long coat on the way to the office.

In Suzaka on the other hand they had to shovel
snow every morning for three days. It is cold
indeed in Nagano now.

先日のワイン会に用意した
赤ワイン。

オー・ボン・クリマとシャンボール・ミュジニーの
繊細系のピノの飲み比べにプロビダンス。
一番右は、マクラーレンヴェールの
アルファ・ボックス・ダイスの
エニグマ。見たこと無いでしょ。
バルベラとCSのブレンドなんですが、
懐かしい南オーストラリアの香がぷんぷん。

They are the wines I prepared for a wine tasting
session the other day.　Two elegant Pinot Noir
wines from USA and France, Au Bon Climat and
Chambolle-Musigny, Providance from NZ, and
Enigma of Alpha Box and Dice from McLaren Vale
which you have not seen yet. It is the blend of
Barbera and CS with rich South Australian
Aroma.

昨年好評だったグリーンツーリズム研究会の
活動報告会兼試食会を今年もやります。

日時：2月6日（月）午前11時から1時半
場所：シルキー3階　第2ホール
会費：1,000円

どんなグリーンツーリズムの活動を行ったか、
また参加者に楽しんでもらった料理の紹介
です。地元の野菜などを使った料理が
大変好評でしたよ。大勢の方の参加を
お待ちしております。

The forum of our Green Tourism Activities cum
Food Tasting will be held again this year. The one held
last year attracted many people and they enjoyed the
food very much.

Admission: 1,000 per person

Our activities and how the people enjoyed
each event will be briefed.
You may find that our ordinary
local foods were very popular among the
participants of the events.

昔はりんご畑の中に心細いほどの
道が通っていたこのあたりも
今ではすっかり住宅街となり
畑が肩身の狭い思いをしている。

なんという事も無い田舎の冬の朝。
肌を刺すような寒さではない、
なんとなく鈍い曇り空の下、遠く
北アルプスが輝いて見えるのが
不思議に思えた。

選挙カーの音が時折響く。

There used to be just a narrow path
surrounded by apple orchards around here.
It has now turned to be a living area with
a few small patches of farm land.

An ordinary morning scene in an edge of
a rural small town in Nagano. The air was not
cold enough for the middle of winter. But the
shining Japan Alps were seen in a distance under the
hazy shade of winter which I felt unusual.

Callings for an election was heard from time to time.

昨日こんなワインのご相伴に
預かった。

以前に頂いた2008は硬かったが、
昨日の2007は美味しかったので
嬉しくなって
たくさん頂いてしまいました。

深い色、滑らかなタンニン。
黒い果実、ダークチョコレートにややミンティー
なノート。深く上品な味わいに長くかつ
広がりを見せる余韻。

こんなワインができたら幸せだね。

I had a chance to taste such a wine.

Vintage 2008 that I had had before had been very tight
but this 2007 was beautiful.　I was too lucky to
denay another glass or more...

Brilliantly reddish purple color. The nose and the flavor
was with dark fruit and currants including dark chocolate
and a hint of mint. It had smooth and velvety tannin
with very lengthy and voluptuous finish.

If I made such a wine, I am sure I’m very happy.

最近は短梢栽培の畑が多くなってきて
います。かなりのパープルやシャインが
増えているのと、巨峰も短梢・種無しに転換して
いる畑が目に付きます。

There are many spur pruned vineyards in
Suzaka. They are either Nagano Purple or
Shine Muscat while conventional Kyoho
vineyards are also converted to spur pruned
aimed for seedless berries.

今朝の朝日新聞の全国版に記事が紹介されました。
進路変更して新たにワイン造りを始めた人たちの
特集シリーズのようでその第1回目です。

そういえば今朝の信濃毎日新聞にも、須坂市の
産業振興策に関連して記事が出ていました。
新しい市の制度を利用して事業化に取り組む農業者が
多く出てくれば良いと思います。

I am introduced in an article in Asahi Shinbun
Newspaper today. It seems the first episode of the
series of the people who changed their lives into
winemaking.

By chance, our local Shinomainichi Newspaper also
takes me in an article about the Industry Promotion
in today’s paper. I remember telling that many more
farmers hopefully will use the new aid of Suzaka City
to start up their own dream business.

今日は午前中から良い天気で
ショップの窓から、寒さで緊張感
を漂わせた峰の原の西の端が光って
見えました。

3連休を利用して観光地は人出が
あったようで、昨日は東京から
わざわざ来られたお客様も
おいでになりました。
ワインを試飲して、湯っ蔵んどに
入って帰られるとか。日帰りも
そうそう無理なくできる今日
このごろです。

It was a very fine day and the west end of
Minenohara Kogen heights was seen shining
brilliantly in freezing cold air.

There seemed many tourists visiting tourism spots
during this three day holidays. We had guests from Tokyo yesterday.
They said they would go to enjoy hot spring at the Yukkuland after
tasting our wines.

You can even make a one day return trip to us from Tokyo
nowadays.

雪の日のポスト

The post in the snow.

やはり年末から3が日はどうしても
飲んだり食べたりが過多になる。
美味しいのだからしょうが無いけどね。

2日ほどお昼は湯っ蔵んどから買って来た
パンだった。昨日は大雪。今日は嘘のような
良い天気。道すがらの駐車場では、雪景色をバックに
写真を撮っている人たちもいて、静かに時間が
過ぎていた。

大晦日から飲んでいたのは、頂いたアデレードヒルズの
ネビオロのロザート。うんまいね。
あと、楠ワイナリーシャルドネ2010も良くなって
いましたね。

As always, I tend to eat and drink more than
usual during this festive season starting from
December 31 until January 3 thanks to delicious
food and wine.

I bought bread for lunch from nearby Yukkuland for
two days in a row. We had heavy snow yesterday but
today it was a fine day. On the way back to the
winery, I saw a few people taking pictures with the
snow covered scenery in the car park. Time went by
very quietly.

I drank Rosato di Nebbiolo from Adelaide Hills.
It was a good wine. Chardonnay 2010 became good,
too.

朝さらさらの雪が舞い始め、しばらくしたら
あっという間に積もり始めた。朝方箒で掃いた
ショップ前の雪も掃いた後がわからないほどに
積もり、お昼近くに再び掃くと重い湿った雪に
なっていた。

おもてで雪かきをしていたわずかな間は小降りになって
もう解け始めるかと思ったのだが、吹雪のような激しい
降りかたに変わった。

静かな雪の一日。今年初めのショップオープンの日。

Dry light snow flakes started falling down in the morning
and suddenly the depth increased. The snow at shop entrance was
cleared once but the trace vanished with wet heavy snow when
I cleared it again at around noon.

The snow fall seemed to cease while I was out to shovel
the snow but it turned to be heavy snow fall again.

It was a quiet snowy day, the shop opening day of the year.

今年も宜しくお願い致します。

今朝の、という訳ではないですが
朝日に照らされたワイナリー入り口です。
天気の良い日が続いています。

昨年来ずーっと思っていた事。
このままでは、ダメだ。変えないと。
去年は忙しすぎて後回しにしてきてしまったが。

行動を変え、考えを変えないと。
いわゆるパラダイム・シフト。
それが新年の決意。

The winery entrance is shining with the rising sun
though the picture was not take this morning. We have
had fine weather for these days.

The thought lingering in my brain throughout the
year last year was that I have to change. I was too busy
to act on it.

I have to change my act and the way of thinking.
So called paradigm shift, the new year’s resolution.

I will make the new year’s resolution in the morning
sun shine.
